  2. THE US REPUBLICAN PARTY IS A CULT OF POWER
  3. There is no ideological, or moral, or strategic, or strategic consistency
  4. IT IS ABOUT POWER AND NOTHING BUT POWER
  5.
  6. This increasingly applies to conservative political parties worldwide — I’m not arguing for American Exceptionalism at all, only pointing out the most powerful and ominous instance. Russia, India, the UK, the Philippines, Poland, Turkey, Hungary, and other countries, are similarly ruled. Ominous party growth or recent resurgences are seen in France, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Greece, …

  8. But really, don’t look for consistency. Outrage and hypocrisy are principal tools of this cult. There’s a balance to be found between justified vigilance (which I try to practice) and excessive distraction. 9.
  10.     Be aware of where the enemy is, what he is doing, and of his strengths.
  11.     Not be excited to distraction, exhaustion, or futile activity.
  12.     Prepare and motivate (not demotivate) your own forces, capabilities, and plans.
  13.     Choose your own time and place of battle, where possible.
  14.     Attack the enemy where he is weakest and least prepared. Not where he goads you.
  15.     Express initiative, not blind reactiveness.
  16.     Avoid internal conflict.
  17.     Seed dissent, distrust, confusion, fear, discord, and disillusionment within the enemy.

  19. I see far too much reaction and distraction.
